She was at her brothers funeral and one of the gravediggers dropped this book and Liesel picked it up.

Liesel is a girl who has to live with her foster parents because her mom doesn't have enough money to keep her.

Liesel's foster home is half caring and half well not caring.

Because she stinks at reading so the kids make fun of her and so do the teachers.

I think Rudy's nice to Liesel because no one else wanted anything to do with her and he likes to be the tougher person.

A gravedigger's apprentice dropped it in the snow after he buried Liesel's brother.
Who is Liesel and why is she living with foster parents?
Liesel is a girl who lived in Germany duing the WW2. She lives with foster parent because her mother gave her up because they were poor and her mother couldn't afford to keep her.

Small, in an okay nieghborhood, not the best, but they're not living in cardboard boxes.
Why does Liesel take so much punishment at school?
She can't read very well.

He's kind of crazy/wierd, with the whole Jesse Owens incident. He's nice to Liesel because he's her friend. Duh.
